Music

This evening I played two sets at Anna's in Berkeley with good friends and for good people.

Sometimes it can be easy to forget why music is so wonderful, especially when there is stress associated with midterms etc...sometimes playing music feels like a chore, or worse, a torture.

Yet, other times I find myself opening up to the creative world of music in a way that can only be described by the word 'ecstasy'.

Tonight in particular, there were moments where joy sprang forth, and was shared bewteen musicians and audience alike.

I would love to carry this kind of energy into all aspects of life, and bring love and joy to those around me.

Everything is becoming...

I believe that Wayne Shorter said something like this. He doesn't perceive beginnings or endings in music- just a constant state of change and 'becoming'.

This Blog is now becoming. I am not sure what will come from it. Hopefully it will be an avenue for greater personal expression through writing. I hope that we can learn and interact together through this medium.
